We could fill every page on this website with a run-down on the mega-programme of activities we put together over a six-year period for Erno Rubik's perennially popular Rubik's Cube (it's the biggest-selling puzzle ever: 350 million units to date) and its new sister products The Revolution/The REVO and The Rubik's 360.

Sadly UK distribution for The Cube has now reverted back to a company owned by Seven Towns, the worldwide rights holders, so we have had to say goodbye to one of the most fun and varied accounts we have ever handled. Our brief was enormous. As well as handling all UK PR and editorial promotions, sampling and TV placement, we also managed a nationwide educational sampling campaign embracing both primary and secondary schools and many large-scale summer camp operations, etc.

We also handled all pre- and event PR for not just the annual UK Speedcubing Championship, but the European Championships and three World Championships. The Budapest World Championship commanded media response like no other. Over two days we looked after almost 200 journalists and 17 TV and video crews. Afterwards we started to evaluate the international coverage achieved for Seven Towns, but gave up at £10,000,000 (yes, pounds, not dollars!)...

That was probably the best ROI we'll ever achieve for a client, given that the total cost of our involvement (over a 4 months period) was under £10K. We also undertook many other tasks in support of our twisty, turny little star - including writing and producing a newsy monthly e-zine for the Rubik's Licensees throughout the world and developing and publishing corporate Guidelines for product launches and events.
